Type Locality and Naming

The type section is located at Xinzha of Zharugou, Nanping County, Sichuan. It was named by Fan Yingnian in 1994.


Lithology and Thickness

Limestone. Dark-gray thin- to moderately thick-bedded crystalline limestone, with chert bands or nodules intercalated at bottom, and turning into dark-gray compact limestone and clayey limestone going along strike northward at Diebu. Thickness 150.3 m.

Conformable contact with the underlying Upper Devonian Dacaotan Gr (uppermost might be the Doushishan Fm => consistent with Devon column 51)

Corals Siphonophylloides stereoseptata, Kassinella longiseptata, K. raritabulata, Caninia cornucopiae ateles and Molophyllum vesicutum; Brachiopods Tenticospirifer sp., Iniathyris tykhtensis, Hunanospirifer sp., etc.
